Toni Ramón (Spain)
Toni Ramón (b.Ibiza 1974) took his first night photograph ten
years ago (1996), before going to Barcelona to study at Instituto
de Estudios Politécnicos de Barcelona, I.D.E.P. He graduated
in General Photography, Digital Photography, Advertisement and
Large Format Photography.
He currently lives in Ibiza, where he runs a digital print centre.
He carries out his night photography work mainly in the two
Mediterranean islands of Ibiza and Formentera, and is mainly
interested in capturing night nature in still idyllic landscapes,
things reflected in beaches, coves and the sea, main motifs
of his photographs. "I am interested in capturing in one image
where human beings cannot see with the naked eye. It is a way
to discover a different night, a more mysterious and deep one.
Toni has been published in several Spanish photography magazines
such as "Foto" and "La fotografía actual", and in several local
magazines. He has shown his photographs in a number of exhibitions
in Ibiza and is currently involved in a collective exhibition
at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Ibiza (Contemporary Art
Museum in Ibiza). He is also the founding member, together with
three friends, of a night photography group called GFN. He frequently
goes out to take photos with them and shares with them the same
passion for this kind of photography. As he relates: "There
is always something new to discover and learn every day, that
is the good thing about photography: I always get excited about
it". Toni also does interior design, architecture and fashion
photographs, and has worked with a number of jobs for advertising
agencies.
