Vol.14 No.4
"Fortunately, art is a community effort - a small but select community living in a spiritualized world, endeavoring to interpret the wars and the solitudes of the flesh." - Allen Ginsberg

Here we are, heading towards 4th Quarter ("High Season" for NPy in the San Francisco Bay area, we've a number of items to bring to your attention!

A 4th Quarter preview, (our 55th NightNews!) starts now . . .

Our 3-nite Full Moon NPy Workshop is again being offered September 28-30, 2012 at locations in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, including Fort Mason, historic Presidio of San Francisco, and
the Marin Headlands. This signature NPy Workshop (Est. 1998) offers those of you who might have "gotten your feet wet" with one-nighter Introductions to the magical world of Night Photography (mostly in our Urban/non-Full Moon offerings) a chance to really stretch out, and create some beautiful long exposure, light-painted work! Hope to see you there!

Exhibiting opportunity:

Submissions to our latest online Exhibit, "The Nocturnes 2012" has been extended, as entries continue to arrive from such global locales as Malaysia, Switzerland, Bermuda, and Potrero Hill. Continuing a tradition of open-themed biennial exibits, these shows have always proved popular! Check out our EXHIBITS page for more details - the new deadline for entries to be received is November 20 - the exhibit will run from December 1-31, 2012.

You probably already know this, but we are planning a return to Death Valley for a 3-night Workshop, November 25-27, 2012. We've been conducting these treks out into the "Definitive American Desert" - Mojave - since 2001- and they are our favorite destination. It's a perfect time of year (November is a very mild 77 degrees, followed by cooler nights at around 50 degrees) to visit this land of extremes - to do some extreme long-exposure nightwork!
