Continuing with this series of monthly communiqués, just to keep up with all the activities surrrounding our year-long celebration, "TheNocturnes@20." You can view the complete schedule of events (starting wa-a-y back in January!) here. However, you'll probably want to see the current list of upcoming events - with more being added weekly - at this link.

So, on to some of the featured events and deadlines for September 2011 - let's have a look, shall we?
"The Nocturnes, reservation for twenty?"

Good news - on September 15, we visit Pier 24 again (a group of 20) to see their newest exhibit, simply titled "HERE." - presenting "works produced by Bay Area photographers as well as a range of images of San Francisco, with an emphasis on the late-twentieth century. "HERE." highlights the vibrancy of San Francisco and the surrounding areas through the work of 34 photographers and over 700 images." (from the Web site - http://www.pier24.org). An email reply to workshop [at] thenocturnes [dot] com gets you on the list for this FREE event - just in case we have to do a drawing for the 20 slots.
Our latest exhibit, "Mare Island Nocturnes" - celebrating 5 years on Mare Island - continues, thru September 15 at the Mare Island Museum - you should definitely have a look! See this PDF for all the details.

Speaking of exhibtions, we would like to announce "The Nocturnes 20th Anniversary Photography Exhibit" (Nov. 9 - Dec. 3) - held
at the Harvey Milk Photo Center, with an Artists Reception on Nov. 9, from 6:30 to 9pm. This is
a juried exhibit, showcasing the work of 25-35 Night Photographers, and is open to Alumni of
all our workshops, exhibits, one-offs, etc. The deadline for JPG submission is October 1, 2011. A note to Alumni: an email reply to studio [at] thenocturnes [dot] com gets you all the details

Now, for some quick reminders of other events:

Our latest online Exhibit, "All along the Lee Shore . . . " has now "gone live" - Jurying to be done this weekene - why not have a look!

On September 12, we return to Rush Ranch for a Full Moon Night Photography Workshop - a benefit for the Rush Ranch Educational Council. Space is still availvable - best to call us at 707-645-9860, if you're interested in attending.

We are pleased to announce two offerings - at the Harvey Milk Photo Center - two courses: "A History of Night Photography" (September 22), and "Introduction to Night Photography" (November 2 - December 8, 2011. For more information and to register online go to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department's site.
