Friends of The Nocturnes,
We would like to remind of a couple of events, part of The Nocturnes Creative
Stimulus Inititative (and no, we're not sending any checks out!) occurring
this merry month of May.
First off, we return to Rush Ranch in Solano County for a special "one-nighter"
- a benefit workshop (our fifth trek out) for the Rush Ranch Educational Council.
We believe this is a perfect workshop for beginners, to "get their feet wet"
(tho' not in Suisun Marsh) and would work well for seasoned Alumni, as well
- affording them an environment, not usually accessible after sunset, and
lots of opportunity for "light-painting" techniques under a FUll Moon. All
the detials are at http://www.thenocturnes.com/workshops/rushranch.html -
with a registration form to use at http://www.thenocturnes.com/forms/reg_rush.html
The second item we would like to bring to your nocturnal attention is our
19th online exhibit - "The Nocturnes 2008: A Biennial Exhibit of Night Photography."
These biennials have proved very popular and this one should be no different.
It will launch on The Nocturnes Web site in June 2008, continuing (thru the
exhibit archives) after the exhibition closes - available to NPrs and all
those interested in Night Photography, worldwide. Juror to be announced -
the deadline for submissions is May 30, 2008, and details are at http://www.thenocturnes.com/forms/entryform_2008.html.
Feasibly, you could photograph out at the Ranch on the 17th and still have
time to make the deadline for the Exhibit! But then, maybe you have a life,
beyond NPy - who knew?
We hope you find the time to participate in one or more of these upcoming
events, but mostly we hope you have more time for Night Photography in these
warmer months of spring!

We look forward to your interest and participation in any of our events; and,
just remember: ". . . let's be careful out there."
